Our customized, photography specific itinerary is designed with an emphasis on delivering the perfect balance between quality and price.

Embark on this 13 day, all Inclusive, photographic safari across the African Savannah, into the Great Rift Valley and onto the volcanic mountain jungles with Brian Merry, a renown wildlife photographer and presenter with over 25 years of experience in wildlife photography, expedition planning and leading.

This Safari will introduce you to Lake Nakuru after driving deep into the Great Rift Valley.  Lake Nakuru is often refereed to as a birders haven with  both Greater and Lesser Flamingos and over 450 other species of terrestrial and aquatic birds calling this biodiverse mecca home.

After Lake Nakuru we shall travel west to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Famously known as a wildlife photographer’s paradise. This celebrated National Reserve is the ‘Home of the Big Cats.’ The Maasai Mara is renowned for having the highest concentration of big cats not only in East Africa, but worldwide.  Here we’ll have many unforgettable big cat encounters and World class photographic encounters.

Next, we’ll fly to Uganda and visit Mabamba Swamp which is a bird-lovers paradise. It is home to 260 bird species, including the massive Shoebill Stork, Uganda’s most sought-after bird for photographers.

Finally, we travel West to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Western Uganda. This park is a home to more than 50% of the mountain gorillas left in the World and also has the highest altitude habituated gorilla families found anywhere.   Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is also a World Heritage Site.

On our last day we shall visit Mabamba Swamp which is a bird-lovers dream destination. It is home to 260 bird species, including the massive Shoebill Stork, Uganda’s most sought-after bird.

We use comfortable Safari outfitted SUVs

On the Maasai Mara we only use comfortable safari outfitted SUVs that are built to handle the varied off road conditions found on the savanna.   We spend the extra money on you for this important comfort.

In the safari SUVs, similar to the one pictured above, you’ll have an elevated perspective from which to photograph wildlife.  This is important because this elevated shooting platform allows you to easily get above the tall grass and bushes by simply standing up through the roof and under the protective rain canopy to photograph.

We intentionally stay away from the cheaper and inferior 4×4 minivans that have a lower shooting perspective and less space to move around inside.  You’re also more likely to get stuck with a van and waste valuable daylight and shooting time.

I’ve combined years of research and my decades of experience developing and delivering World class tours to create this itinerary.  It was developed with the underlying principle to maximize the balance between all of the following factors:

  • wildlife photography
  • landscape photography
  • cultural experiences
  • minimal time spent on traveling between locations.
  • SUV transportation vs. cramped minivans.
  • Lodges that have the right mix of luxury, an authentic safari experience and close proximity to our photography locations.
  • and cost to you

This isn’t the cheapest tour that you’ll find.  But, we firmly believe this to be the best value possible for wildlife and landscape photographers when optimizing all of the factors listed above.

We’re going to take care of all the essentials during the tour.  You just need to show up ready to shoot and leave the rest to Joseph and I!

Sincerely yours,

Brian Merry
